by

Shoshoo Baby

Saturday 29th January

A Centre Stage Production

The fantastically glamorous singing duo Shoo Shoo Baby,Tanya and Anna, have worked with world-class musicians and directors to produce a series of Pocket-Sized Broadway Musicals that can be presented absolutely anywhere. They have performed all over the UK and abroad and have received glowing reviews for their combination of hilarity, originality and musicality.

In A Winter Wonderland, the deliciously glamorous singing duo, and their highly talented accompanist, perform fresh new arrangements of Christmas classics, alongside gorgeous unknown gems from the 1940s.

As well as opportunities to participate in the 'giving', the audience is also invited to listen and be charmed by such songs as Angie the Christmas Tree Angel, A Winter Wonderland and a delightfully 'steamy' rendition of Santa Baby. The Shoo Shoos also perform a variety of
non-festive songs such as Happy Feet, Favourite Things and Lady is A Tramp, for those who just can't take too much Christmas!

Banded Together

An audio visual presentation on the Whitwick Colliery Disaster of 1898

Following the great success of Banded Together at the Venture Theatre recently,
it has now been booked at Buxton Opera House in the Studio between Thursday 20th and Saturday 22nd May.

The show is written and produced by Brian Langtry and stars three members of Ashby Dramatic Society:
Dave Steward, Frank Allman and Cathy Turner - their first professional tour!

The show was so good, we recommend that everyone goes to see it.

The Venture Theatre is owned and run by Ashby Dramatic Society (ADS). Both the theatre and the Society are self-funding and receive no grants or subsidies although a capital grant from the National Lottery in 1995 helped to refurbish the building.

The auditorium has an intimate atmosphere with tiered seating for 112 people or 90 when seated cabaret style. The bar offers a substantial range of drinks including wines, spirits, soft drinks, beers, lagers and cask-conditioned ales. Prices are comparable to local pubs.
