Ten Rods is a brand new comedy first performed to much acclaim in 2014. It is set on an allotment and tells the hilarious story of three pensioners, all former soldiers who meet a wild young woman who turns up to claim a vacant plot who seems completely ignorant of any aspect of gardening and her partner even less so. A feud is instigated when the pensioners find out there is a criminal in their midst, who threatens more than just disturbing the peace of the allotment. Gardening takes a back seat and a dark plot begins. This engaging comedy is full of twists and turns which will keep you guessing as well as laughing. ‘Ten Rods’ is written by Terry Hammond, a member of Ashby Dramatic Society, and well worth seeking out if you like a great night out at the theatre.
